8/2/17 Mars' Medieval Day! To bring our castles topic to a close we dressed up for the day and prepared jam tarts for our very own banquet, made crowns and performed a dance we have been learning in PE. We had so much fun!

11/10/16 Mars have been busy making models of their inventions to finish our 'Explorers & Inventors' topic. From hairdressing robots to flying skateboards, all of our inventions were very imaginative!

7/10/16 We are really enjoying learning all about Christopher Columbus. Take a look at our sketches of the Santa Maria!

29/09/16 Pluto and Mars teamed up to create homes for different animals in groups. Every home was different and each group had thought about different things to include. We loved exploring each other's work!

09/09/16 Welcome to Mars class! Monty the Mars class mascot has been getting to know the new Year 1 children this week. We have all settled in really well and are having fun getting to know each other. Watch this space for more updates of our learning journey! Mrs Ridge

06/05/16 Year 1 are really enjoying learning about Vincent Van Gogh, in particular the paintings he did of plants. We will be using 2B pencils to sketch his painting 'Almond Blossom' next week.

13/04/16 Today we watched Charlie and Lola 'I really wonder what plant I am growing'. We wondered what plants are growing in the playground and went to investigate!

11/04/16 This term year 1 will be learning all about PLANTS. We will be identifying and growing plants and learning what it is they need to help them grow. Nursteed Garden Centre is now open in the classroom where the children will be using their maths skills to buy and sell items, as well as write stock lists and shopping lists.

24/02/16 Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to @Bristol. We visited the planetarium to kick-start our space topic. Thank you to our lovely helpers.
