Each lesson begins with word building. Within this section children segment and blend simple words with the target sounds of the particular unit, and practise of those they have already learnt. Then they practise writing each word.
Part 2: Reading and Spelling words
In this section children revisit the words from the previous section, reading and writing them.
Part 4: Reading Sentences
At the end of every lesson children practise reading or writing sentences (on alternating days). This is an example of the reading section. During this section children practise saying the sounds and reading the words, reading the words and reading the sentence, ten re-reading several times to build fluency and expression.
