‘Through kindness, teamwork and determination we thrive.’

Tuesday 19th January

Reading

LI: Retrieve information from the story.

Please log in to Purple Mash. I would like you to re-read Chapter 3 of our Class Story, ‘The Settlers. After you have read the chapter again, you have two tasks.

1) Answer some SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) questions relating to the chapter.

2) Answer some 'open-ended' questions about the chapter. Please write full sentences to answer these questions with reasons to support your answers. You can refer to things that have happened in the story in your answers.

English

LI: Write about your perfect pet.

In chapter 3 of our class story, 'The Settlers', Ash is very excited now that he has a pet dog. It sounds like Arrow will be a perfect pet. Write about your perfect pet. Your writing could be about a special animal that you know well or about a pet that you would like to have.

Please log in to Purple Mash and you will find a '2Do' for this task. On the left side of the screen you will see some key words. If you hover over these, they will give you a tip for what to include in your writing and on the right side of the screen there are some clip art images you can use if you wish.

I can't wait to read about your perfect pets!

Maths

LI: Divide 2-digits by 1-digit (2)

Please watch the learning video on this link https://vimeo.com/489845622

Then complete the worksheets. Try to do these on ClassDojo if you can so you can complete them on screen and save to your portfolio. You can also find them here, though. Remember, if it is very tricky you can do just the first worksheet but challenge yourself as much as you can!

PM

1pm PSHE – Make a start on this task if you have time, then:

1:30 pm TEAMS lesson - ‘Happy Place’ PSHE lesson

LI: Think about what makes me happy

I would like you to create a picture of your ideal ‘happy place’.

It can be great to have a place to go to, even in your imagination, that makes you feel really happy. This can be so helpful at times when we may feel a little anxious.

  1. First, make a list of all the things you can think of that make you feel happy. A few that would be on my list are trees, books, fresh air, music.

  1. Then either on screen or on a separate piece of paper, create a picture or collage of your happy place. You can be as creative as you like.

Times Tables practise

LI: Practise rapid recall of multiplication and division facts

Just select the sheet below for the times tables you are working on and have a practise. If you and your parents/ teacher think you're ready to move on as we go forward then please do - you'll be able to amaze me with your progress after lockdown!
