LI: Retrieve information from the story.

Please log in to Purple Mash. I would like you to re-read Chapter 2 of our Class Story, ‘The Settlers. After you have read the chapter again, you have two tasks. 

1) Answer some SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) questions relating to the chapter.

2) Answer some 'open-ended' questions about the chapter. Please write full sentences to answer these questions with reasons to support your answers. You can refer to things that have happened in the story in your answers.

LI: Write a poem

We are going to write our own poems based on the structure and style of ‘Dreaming the Unicorn’, the poem we worked on last week. This task will take 2 sessions so you will spend your English lessons on Wednesday and Thursday this week completing it.

Reread the poem to someone else with your actions you created last week. Can you write a similar poem based on one of the mythical creatures that you have researched?

Use this pattern:

Stanza 1 Say what you dreamed about and where the dream took place.

Stanza 2 Describe what your creature does.

Stanza 3 Describe how you felt.

Stanza 4 Describe how you wake up and what you find as proof that you really saw the creature.

Stanza 5 Say where you keep this special reminder (e.g.feather, shiny scale) and how you feel whenever you look at it.

If you still have time on Thursday, write your poem out in your best handwriting and add an illustration.

PE 

I will schedule one PE session in our timetable each week. I will suggest a PE session delivered by a professional, tailored specifically for use at home in lockdown, but I'm sure some of you may prefer to do alternative exercise outdoors, which is fine.
