Reading
LI: Retrieve information from the story.
Please log in to Purple Mash. I would like you to re-read Chapter 5 of our Class Story, ‘The Settlers. After you have read the chapter again, you have two tasks.
1) Answer some SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) questions relating to the chapter.
2) Answer some 'open-ended' questions about the chapter. Please write full sentences to answer these questions with reasons to support your answers. You can refer to things that have happened in the story in your answers.
English
LI: Write in first person
In this chapter, River was very emotional. All she wanted was to protect her children, but it proved very challenging. Imagine she has just been interviewed by Settlers News Daily, a newspaper. Use the writing template to write the answers to River’s interview questions.
Your task is set as a 2Do on Purple Mash. You can read back through the chapter to answer some of the questions. Remember to answer as if you are River, in first person, and in a chatty and informal style. There are hints to help you with this.
Maths
LI: Count money - pence
Today we will start learning about money. We will begin by recapping Year 2 content.
Please watch the learning video on this link https://vimeo.com/497343674
Then complete the worksheets. Try to do these on ClassDojo if you can so you can complete them on screen and save to your portfolio. You can also find them here, though. Remember, if it is very tricky you can do just the first worksheet but challenge yourself as much as you can!

LI: Create a ‘Cave Art’ style piece
If you have time, complete the worksheet before our TEAMS session, then we will learn all about Stone Age cave art and have a go at creating some cave art of our own. The second worksheet below has some designs which may help you in our Art lesson.
You can choose which materials from the list above that you use during our Art lesson. You could use just colouring pencils in yellow, orange, red, brown, black or even just a black felt pen/ crayon. Or you can use chalks or paints. You can use normal paper, art paper or even sandpaper to experience using chalk/paint on a rough surface like a cave wall.
Times Tables practise
LI: Practise rapid recall of multiplication and division facts
Just select the sheet below for the times tables you are working on and have a practise. If you and your parents/ teacher think you're ready to move on as we go forward then please do - you'll be able to amaze me with your progress after lockdown!
