‘Through kindness, teamwork and determination we thrive.’
Reading
LI: Retrieve information from the story.
You have two tasks:
English
LI: Write an information text
Today we will finish writing our first draft of our own version of ‘The Truth about Trolls’ in the style of an information text.
Please watch the video lesson and then use your planner, your work on engaging adverbs and your copy of the original text (below) to write the final paragraph, ‘Amazing facts’.
Maths
LI: Draw bar charts
There are no worksheets today. Instead, you will pause the video lesson to complete some activities.
Please get a pencil, ruler and paper ready and watch the learning video on this link https://vimeo.com/501677687
You could take a picture of your work and upload it to Dojo if you’re able to.
Science
LI: Explore properties of rocks
A rock is not just a rock!
Have you ever noticed that not all rocks or stones are the same?
Some you can make marks with, some you can’t; some are shiny, some aren’t; some are rough, some are smooth. Head outside and see what you can find. Collect a selection of rocks and stones that are in some way different from each other (it may be a good idea to do this whilst on a walk with your family). Remember to think scientifically, this will mean looking carefully and observing (noticing) all the small differences and similarities between your rocks. Once you have collected you rocks place your rocks on a blank piece of paper. Write words around each of your rocks describing them.
Use the document below 'Describing rcoks' to help with some of the words that you might like to use.
After you have done this, you can find out more information that might help us categorise our rocks on BBC Bitesize:
